Work

Building payment flows for a fintech product in London. Most of my time is split between the iOS app and the backend services that power it. We're in a push to improve reliability and reduce latency in the transaction pipeline, which means a lot of careful profiling and some unglamorous queue work.

Side projects

Tinkering with a small Swift package for local-first data sync. Nothing ready to ship yet — more of a tool for understanding how conflict resolution actually works when you can't lean on a server. Also putting together this site, which counts.

Reading

Working through A Philosophy of Software Design by John Ousterhout — slowly, because it's the kind of book that rewards arguing with it. Also reading some shorter things on distributed systems consistency models that I keep meaning to turn into notes.

Life

Settled in London for a while now. Getting to know the city properly — mostly through walking longer routes than necessary and finding good coffee along the way.
